Product Description

Composition & Materials

Eos Solid Surface is a non-porous homogenous blend of polyester and acrylic alloys and fillers. This creates a surfacing material that looks like stone but cuts like wood. The grain pattern goes all the way through which allows for three dimensional shaping.

Basic Uses

Because the material can be worked with conventional wood-working power tools, the design possibilities are unlimited. Countertops, wall cladding, furniture, mouldings, architectural signage and accessories can be beautifully created with a guarantee of durability.

Limitations

Do not use in areas exposed to sustained temperatures in excess of 375°F (CI) or 260°F (CIII). Seaming with joint adhesive should not be performed when the ambient temperature of the work area is below 55°F (13°C).

Sizes

Eos Solid Surface is available in the following sheet sizes: Custom sizes available.

Thickness

Eos Solid Surface sheets are available as extra thick slabs in thicknesses of 3cm and 2cm.

Shaped Products

Solid surface sinks in kitchen and lavatory models are available in two standard solid colors. Combine with Eos Solid Surface sheets to create a totally integrated solid surface system.

Colors

A complete selection of popular colors and patterns are available. Contact your local Distributor for samples.

Finish

The factory finish of Eos Solid Surface is a matte finish approximating 220 grit sandpaper. A satin sheen or a high polish can be obtained by buffing with prescribed polishing compounds.

Weight

Eos 3cm solid surface sheet stock weighs approximately 11.4 lbs. per sq. ft.

Maintenance

Eos Solid Surface may be easily cleaned using conventional cleaning agents such as an ammonia based liquid cleaner (glass cleaner). Dry stains on a matte finish can be removed with a Scotch-Brite™ scouring pad by 3M or a mild abrasive cleanser. Burns or scorches can be removed by sanding with coarse grit sandpaper followed by finer grit sandpaper. Follow sanding with a Scotch-Brite™ 7447 red pad by 3M (or equivalent) to match finish of sanded area to surrounding area. A final buffing is required for polished surfaces. Accidental nicks or chips can be repaired with special patch kits available in all standard Eos Solid Surface colors.

Stain & Chemical Resistance

The test method used was NEMA LD 3-3.9. No lasting effect was noted after the prescribed exposure to 29 common reagents.

Sanitary Use

Eos Solid Surface has been tested and approved by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). Its inert and non-porous surface will not support the growth of bacteria and is ideal for food service and health-care facilities.

Care & Cleaning

Routine Care

Eos is made to withstand the rigors of everyday countertop use. Normal cleaning requires a damp cloth and a mild cleanser. If you have chosen a matte finish you may use an abrasive cleaner, which should be applied using a circular motion. A semi-gloss finish should be cleaned with soap and water, although you may wish to use a countertop polish to keep the counters looking fresh. Avoid the use of strong acidic cleaners, such as those designed for drains, toilets or ovens, as they can damage your countertop surface.

Preventing Heat Damage

Eos is an excellent material for heat resistance. However, as with all countertop materials, it is important to minimize direct heat exposure to protect your investment. Use heat trivets or hot pads when transferring hot pans directly from the burner or oven. It is also a good idea to run cold water in the sink when pouring in hot liquids.

Removing Minor Cuts and Scratches

As with all countertop materials, you should not cut directly on your Eos countertop. Minor scratches can be removed by using an abrasive cleaner or Scotch Brite pad, always rubbing in a circular motion. Deeper scratches on countertops with a matte finish may be removed using fine sandpaper (180 grit), followed with a Scotch Brite pad. For removing deep scratches in semi-gloss or gloss finishes we recommend contacting your fabricator for assistance.

For more information regarding care and maintenance of your Eos countertop, contact your fabricator.

Residential 10-year Warranty

Eos warrants through the fabricator to the original owners of installed Eos products for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation that the Eos material will be free from manufacturing defects.  If a manufacturing defect occurs during the warranty period, Eos will, at its option, replace the defective Eos products at no cost to the end user. The fabricator of the countertops reserves the right to repair the defect in a workmanlike manner should they judge that the material is repairable.
